tiradentes photo exhibit, book launch, and film debut

You are cordially invited to a photo exhibit opening, a book launch and signing, and a short film debut with a Q & A afterwards. Or: quite a night. (Para a convite em português, favor olhar em baixo o gráfico da convite imprimida.)

The photo exhibit, named Tiradentes: Becos e Berços (Tiradentes: Alleys & Cradles), is the fruit of 9 years of morning and other walks, with my black Lab, through the colonial streets of my Brazilian home town. Shot entirely in black & white, the images are all hand-made, with no digital processing whatsoever, developed and enlarged in the laundry room darkroom of my backyard.

Accompanying the art opening is the Mineiro launch of the book To Belém & Back about a long journey into the heart of Brazil, that began and ended in Tiradentes.

To celebrate the launch and book signing in the cradle of its creation, I’m debuting a short film, “Tiradentes 2 Belém,” which was inspired by the multi-faceted journey, to be followed by a short Q & A session.
